The Michelle Wright rose was launched in September of 1997 to honour the
Canadian recording
star, Michelle Wright. She is a native of Chatham-Kent.
The rose is available from Pickering Nurseries (also known as Pensioners Voice), and Hortico.
One dollar from the sale of each plant is contributed to the Chatham-Kent Community Foundation.
The Michelle Wright causes a sensation wherever grown. Beautifully formed flowers, bright orange - apricot, with occasional tints of pink and vermillion.
The blooms are large for a Floribunda. The bush habit is impressive, with the flowers produced in great profusion.
The variety was developed by Gareth Fryer of Fryer's Roses, Knutsford, U.K.
It is also known as Pensioners Voice.
